Baxter's Commitment
Commitment to Healthcare Professionals
Events for healthcare professionals
Baxter sponsors and runs a wide variety of educational events for healthcare professionals. These events help to ensure that healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of haemophilia here in the UK have the opportunity to share best practice and new ideas in care as well as keeping up-to-date with current research in the area.
Clinical events
- Annual haemophilia meeting – this event is held either on a UK or European wide basis and aims to gather a multidisciplinary group of doctors, nurse specialists and physiotherapists together
- Global nurse meeting – this is a global initiative for senior clinical nurse specialists to share best practice on an international scale
- Regional seminars for doctors and clinical scientists - these include a variety of workshops on a wide range of skills. All of the topics covered in these sessions are becoming essential skills for those that are involved at the cutting edge of care in today’s, often pressurised, NHS
- International Congress travel grants – these allow doctors, nurse specialists and clinical scientists to attend a wide variety of high profile and important international scientific meetings
Research Fellowships
- Baxter has joined with the Royal College of Pathologists to provide a Training Fellowship to encourage Specialist Registrars (non-consultant doctors) to gain clinical and research experience in haemostasis and thrombosis
- Baxter provides research fellowships for a number of different centre specific research projects
