Shared care networks
People with moderate or severe haemophilia should generally have their care managed by a CCC, so that they can be reviewed on a more regular basis. However, if they do not live near a CCC or a Haemophilia Centre, it is possible for care to be run by local doctors (generally haematologists or paediatricians) through a shared care network.
This involves all the specialists that are needed for their care joining forces outside of a specialist centre. It can include home visits from nurses, local clinic visits from specialist doctors and deliveries of medication to the home.
